Athlete Intelligence™ is pleased to announce it has added Université de Sherbrooke to its growing list of athletic teams. The new partnership will provide the Vert&Or with advanced intelligence and insights into player performance and safety during practices and games.
The Athlete Intelligence platform and the wearable Cue Sport Sensor™ will be used by the Université de Sherbrooke coaching and training staff to collect, analyze and offer actionable insights called “Coachable Moments” to improve the team’s performance and reduce the risk of head impact injuries. Not only will coaching and training staff be able to receive real-time head impact data to assess potentially dangerous hits, but also understand when players are using improper techniques or have been overworked resulting in poor performance and increased injury risks.
The school will also use the data collect to conduct further research for their projects studying impacts to the brain in football. The data collected through the Athlete Intelligence system will be paired with diffusion MRIs to study the consequences.
“The Université de Sherbrooke football team is very excited to be associated with Athlete Intelligence and the new Cue Sport Sensor,” said Mario Mercier the Head Athletic Therapist for the school. “We are a research oriented university and the cutting-edge technology will be valuable in our major research project. The safety and health of our student-athletes is of utmost importance to our university community and the information we will get will enable us to make return to play safer for our players.”
“Sherbrooke University has always been a leader in sports technology so when they decided to move forward with us it wasn’t just about working with another program, it’s about being part of that leadership,” said Athlete Intelligence Sales Director, Andrew Golden. “With their continued focus on student-athlete safety and our support in data-analytics, we’ve really created a cohesive foundation for safer and smarter athletes.”
