Do new poll results released by Bloomberg Politics suggest that America’s favorite pastime — football — may be coming to an end?
Well, maybe not.
The poll (linked to above) doesn’t specifically claim football is in trouble; in fact, many respondents questioned the assumptions that it was. Regardless of the pedantic differentiations the poll’s findings — the first major findings of its kind — provide a fascinating look at the Gridiron game.
1/3 of the wealthy (those who make more than $100,000 a year) and the college-educated believe football will lose fans over the next 20 years.
Sixty-two percent of college-educated respondents said they don’t want their children playing the sport and 62 percent of those making more than $100,000 a year agree.
